Meet the B@dass Bees
Bad@ss Bees?
Melinda Pfeiffer, founder and owner of Bad@ss Bees Honey, has been a beekeeper since 2018. Her uncle from Columbia, SC, a longtime beekeeper, got her started on this fascinating journey. She is a member of the Wake County and North Carolina Beekeeping Associations and is a past Vice President of the WCBA. She is a North Carolina-certified honey producer.
How did we get our name?
Melinda's first year beekeeping (and, to be honest, every year since then!) featured some spicy bees. Once when she was sitting outside looking at them, minding her own darn business, she got stung several times. She named them on the spot and it's stuck.
Our products
Bees are amazing, industrious creatures and they create so many wonderful products. Our company believes in sustainability and with that in mind, we never take more than half of their honey. To quote the native beekeeper in Honeyland, "I take half and you keep half."
We sell many sizes of honey jars, whole honeycomb, lip balm, propolis tincture, and propolis balm. Additionally, we offer Bee Tourism, where you can book a session helping to beekeep.
